Camera Woes
So the flash on my camera stopped working. It says "Err 099" whenever I try to use it. My one year warranty expires at the end of this month so I sent it in to Canon to fix now. For free. So no camera for me for awhile =( I’m going through withdrawal. After three weeks, seriously, three weeks of crappy sunsets, there are two incredibly beautiful ones in a row… Just my luck =/

Ah, well, I should have it in a week.

Student Life
At school, I get to play all day. Honestly. Thursday morning in Non Traditional Sports we did a bunch of obstacles and activities then talked about the challenges for us and what challenges children might face. For the first activity, each group was given a list of ten things we had to complete then get a piece of equipment after each task. The tasks were like 30 jumping jacks, running around the basketball court twice, walk backward around the court holding hands, scoot around the court, each player make a basket in the basketball hoop, and some other stuff. Then we had to take the equipment and create a design she gave us, without looking at the illustration. I pretty much stood 20 feet from my group with the picture and yelled out how to build it.

In Movement Forms of Sport, Dance and Exercise, we played Ultimate Frisbee (we’re in the sport part right now). And I totally kick ass. My team won 10-9 or 10-8, but we totally rock. I was the designated "kick off" person, and my arm is really sore now. I don’t do that Frisbee throwing motion much. For 5 weeks I get to play Ultimate Frisbee and talk about play and kinesiology and physical education and physical activity. Then for five weeks I have to dance (=/), then we go in the weight room and talk about exercise and work out I guess.

I think I’m going to make a sticker: "My Major Kicks Your Major". I think saying 'ass' might be offensive, even though it totally does.

I think I’m going to minor in Recreation Tourism Management, and because I’m not sure, I’m taking one of the minor classes, Event Planning. It has a much longer name, but it’s Event Planning. That’s my only real class and there’s no test. We meet on Tuesday and the teacher lectures a bit, and then he gives us Thursday off to work on that week’s lab assignment. All of which have been really easy. I’ll have to write a couple short papers but that’s nothing. The hardest thing will probably be planning the banquet for RTM students, faculty and alumni in April. I don’t think I’ll go to the banquet because of work, or I’ll show up late, but I’ll help plan the thing. As long as I don’t have to go ask people for money since our budget is 0.

I have an online Weather class (which I’m only taking so I’ll be a full-time student), but we have 3 quizzes and that’s it. My friend is a genius (as am I, but a lazy one, haha =)), and I’m going to ask him to help me. It should basically be a cake class, bird class, Mickey course, etc.

And I have a Strength Training Class. I show up and do something, I get an A. I really like working out, but I won’t really do it on my own. I need a class or someone to go with me. So this class will be helpful. We did a fitness test last week based off our weight. You weigh yourself, figure out the percentage for certain exercises (body weight times 45% for bench press and lat pull down, 18% for bicep curl, 10% for abdominals, etc.), then you figure out the weight you’re going to do for those exercises. Like my lat pull down and bench press was 68.4 lbs; I can either round up to 70 or down to 65. Anyway, I was superior (preformed 21 plus repetitions) in every exercise except bicep curl, where I was good. Dang… Either way, I’m in Excellent Physical Fitness

General Life
I’ve been watching The Biggest Loser with my mom and it makes me want to work out and eat healthy. I should probably start easing off the junk food and such now, so I don’t have to go cold turkey in a few years.

I have something to prove now, too, but I’m not going to go into it. Basically I’m pissed off about something and have to prove this person wrong.

I’m sanding and repainting some chairs for my friend’s parents. Her mom offered me $25 a chair; I told her she didn’t have to pay me since I really enjoy carpentry and stuff, but she insisted. Then, while I was working on them last night, her dad said he’d give me another $25 a chair, for sanding all of all of them (backs, legs, seats), and painting and finishing/varnishing them. It’s a lot of work. And Sanding isn’t as easy as most people think. So I’ve put about 6 hours into sanding over two days, and I’m just going to start on the higher grit. That tells you how much work it really is. And I get filthy.

Art Life
The Open Exhibit at my art coming up. Super excited for it! I’m going to submit 10-12 pictures. I may try to repost the ones I’m thinking about submitting for you guys to check out and give me your opinions if you want, but I may not. Maybe I’ll post a journal with the links… I have to have them in to the Playhouse in like a month so I need to get on printing and framing.

Commission Status: Closed until my camera returns
